A Post in Which I Pretend I Can Cook

I have been trying to eat healthier. It's not really a New Year's Resolution, it's more of a man, I'm past 30 and moving on so I'd better be healthy.  Today I made a healthy dessert that just might satisfy a chocolate craving!  It's called Oreo Cream. I got the recipe from SparkRecipes.com.   It's definitely delicious and I just had to take a pic, because ever since the Pioneer Woman's food photo challenge, I am kind of liking photographing food!

I edited in PhotoShop and applied one of my favorite actions called "Dave's Ethereal Glow" You can get this action free from http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm It takes the softness of a photo up a notch by making it even more glowish looking. Glowish, as in, all glowy looking. :)

Mr. Freeze

Today we spent the day at the Delmar Loop Ice Carnival. This was the last photo I took there. He saw my camera and posed!  I had so much fun taking pictures all day even if my fingers were frozen!

Flying Weim and the Bone Catcher

Flying Weim and the Bone Catcher, originally uploaded by KTVee.
I spent about an hour taking pictures of a lime dropped into water, only to snap a few of the dogs playing on the way to upload the photos. The dogs were CRAZY and I think, as you can tell by Lucy midflight, serious about their bone-fight! :)

Tag It!

It was by accident, but once again, turquoise has made it's way into my daily photo! It is true, I am in need a 12-step program to recover from Turquoise addiction.

Mixin' Like Oil & Water

A few days ago, I was reading a blog post by Jodi Freeman on Pioneer Woman's photography site.   I immediately loved the pictures for two reasons: 1.) Their bright colors and most of all 2.) The bright colors.  Why hadn't I thought of running into the bathroom and filling the sink with oil and food coloring?   It's a simple set up, easy to clean up and wash down the drain, and while I didn't get the amazing results that Jodi got in her pics, I was happy with the crazy swirls, bubbles, and splashes I did capture.  This sort of reminds me of a cross between seventh grade science, think 'cytoplasm', and Ghostbusters, think 'ectoplasm."

Making Waves

Swirly Bubbles

These were actually the first ones taken. The oil and food coloring do not mix, which resulted in a globby bit of colorful chaos that I kind of liked.

I might have to try this again with purple.....
